Orgonite is a material — a specific composite invented by Karl Hans Welz in the 1990s — designed to convert stagnant or negative orgone energy (DOR) into neutral, usable orgone energy (OR). It is made from metal shavings, casting resin, and quartz crystal. You can hold orgonite. You can make it, buy it, and place it in your environment.
The name orgonite was coined by Welz himself, combining orgone (the energy) with the suffix -ite (used in mineralogy and materials science to denote a substance). Orgonite is the material designed to work with orgone energy.
The Relationship Between Orgone and Orgonite
Orgone is to orgonite what electricity is to a battery — one is the energy, the other is a device or material designed to interact with it. Reich’s orgone accumulator was the first device specifically built to interact with orgone energy.
